What is BIOMETRICS?

-Biometrics is the science and technology of measuring and analyzing biological data.
-In information technology, biometrics refers to technologies that measure and analyze human body characteristics, such as fingerprints, eye retinas and irises, voice patterns, facial patterns and hand measurements, for authentication purposes.

Biometric characteristics can be divided in two main classes, as represented in figure on the top which are:

-Physiological are related to the shape of the body. Examples include, but are not limited to fingerprint, face recognition, hand and palm geometry and iris recognition.
-Behavioral are related to the behavior of a person. Characteristic implemented by using biometrics are signature verification, keystroke dynamics, and voice.

Physiological

-Fingerprints : The patterns of friction ridges and valleys on an individual's fingertips are unique to that individual.
-Face Recognition : The identification of a person by their facial image can be done in a number of different ways such as by capturing an image of the face in the visible spectrum using an optical camera or by using the infrared patterns of facial heat emission.
-Hand and Finger Geometry: These methods of personal authentication are well established. Hand recognition has been available for over twenty years. To achieve personal authentication, a system may measure either physical characteristics of the fingers or the hands. These include length, width, thickness and surface area of the hand.
-Iris Recognition: This recognition method uses the iris of the eye which is the colored area that surrounds the pupil. Iris patterns are thought unique. The iris patterns are obtained through a video-based image acquisition system.

STUDY - COMPARISON

Truly, when i get this assignment I don't know what to do. So i go back through time machine and i found this two very interesting yet delicious fast food restaurant in the world. To be honest, i just "copy n paste" it from the most helpful thing for human being in this 21st century, the internet. But when i read the article, i've found very interesting fact about Kentucky Fried Chicken n McDonald. Here i give the comparison between Kentucky Fried Chicken and McDonald.

McDonald

The business began in 1940, with a restaurant opened by siblings Dick and Mac McDonald in San Bernardino, California. Their introduction of the "Speedee Service System" in 1948 established the principles of the modern fast-food restaurant. The original mascot of McDonald's was a man with a chef's hat on top of a hamburger shaped head whose name was "Speedee." Speedee was eventually replaced with Ronald McDonald in 1963.

The present corporation dates its founding to the opening of a franchised restaurant by Ray Kroc, in Des Plaines, Illinois on April 15, 1955, the ninth McDonald's restaurant overall. Kroc later purchased the McDonald brothers' equity in the company and led its worldwide expansion and the company became listed on the public stock markets in 1965. Kroc was also noted for aggressive business practices, compelling the McDonald's brothers to leave the fast food industry. The McDonald's brothers and Kroc feuded over control of the business, as documented in both Kroc's autobiography and in the McDonald brothers autobiography. The site of the McDonald brothers' original restaurant is now a monument.

With the expansion of McDonald's into many international markets, the company has become a symbol of globalization and the spread of the American way of life. Its prominence has also made it a frequent topic of public debates about obesity, corporate ethics and consumer responsibility.

Kentucky Fried Chicken

Born and raised in Henryville, Indiana, Sanders passed through several professions in his lifetime. Sanders first served his fried chicken in 1930 in the midst of the Great Depression at a gas station he owned in North Corbin, Kentucky. The dining area was named "Sanders Court & Café" and was so successful that in 1936 Kentucky Governor Ruby Laffoon granted Sanders the title of honorary Kentucky Colonel in recognition of his contribution to the state's cuisine. The following year Sanders expanded his restaurant to 142 seats, and added a motel he bought across the street. When Sanders prepared his chicken in his original restaurant in North Corbin, he prepared the chicken in an iron skillet, which took about 30 minutes to do, too long for a restaurant operation. In 1939, Sanders altered the cooking process for his fried chicken to use a pressure fryer, resulting in a greatly reduced cooking time comparable to that of deep frying. In 1940 Sanders devised what came to be known as his Original Recipe.
The Sanders Court & Café generally served travelers, often those headed to Florida, so when the route planned in the 1950s for what would become Interstate 75 bypassed Corbin, he sold his properties and traveled the U.S. to sell his chicken to restaurant owners. Sanders entered into franchise agreements paying him five cents for each piece of chicken sold. The first to take him up on the offer was Pete Harman in South Salt Lake, Utah; together, they opened the first "Kentucky Fried Chicken" outlet in 1952. By the early 1960s Kentucky Fried Chicken was sold in over 600 franchised outlets in both the United States and Canada. One of the longest-lived franchisees of the older Col. Sanders' chicken concept, as opposed to the KFC chain, was the Kenny Kings chain. The company owned many Northern Ohio diner-style restaurants, the last of which closed in 2004. Sanders sold the entire KFC franchising operation in 1964 for $2 million USD Since that time, the chain has been sold three more times, most recently to PepsiCo, which made it part of its Tricon Global Restaurants division, which in turn was spun off in 1997, and has now been renamed to Yum! Brands. Additionally, Colonel Sanders' nephew, Lee Cummings, took his own Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises and converted them to his own "spin-off" restaurant chain, Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken.
Today, some of the older KFC restaurants have become famous in their own right. One such restaurant is located in Marietta, Georgia. This store is notable for a 56-foot (17 m) tall sign that looks like a chicken. The sign, known locally as the Big Chicken, was built for an earlier fast-food restaurant on the site called Johnny Reb's Chick, Chuck and Shake. It is often used as a travel reference point in the Atlanta area by locals and pilots.
The original handwritten recipe, along with vials containing samples of each of 11 herbs and spices, is kept locked away at the KFC corporate headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky. Only 2 executives have access to it and to maintain security, the company uses multiple suppliers each providing only a portion of the final ingredients.

STUDY - CHILDREN OF HEAVEN

CHILDREN OF HEAVEN

“I’ll tell father that u lose my shoe”…

The sister said, and the brother replied

“Don’t tell father, he will be mad to me…he don’t have money to buy you a new pair of shoes…”

One of the conversation that the siblings says in the film about the meaning of life entitled Children Of Heaven.

This film shows how an 9 year old and 7 year old kids really understand the true meaning of life since young age. The film truly an honest film that convey a message of what the true meaning of life from the perspective of young mind.

At the first 30 minutes I really do not know what I’m watching exactly the movie try to delivered. I thought it was only a low budget film that give warning how hard if you lose your younger sister shoe’ s (laughing). But after 30 minutes the film really shows the message that it try to delivered and that is how an innocent young mind really understand the meaning of life from their own respective. This film also show the true meaning of honesty that only can be found among children of young age.

The ending of the film really express the thinking of young mind about things in this world happen. The brother only want to get the third place in the race that he joined just to get a new pair of shoes for her sister. At last, he got first place and he came home to tell his sister that he could not get the third place. It is ironic that how naive and honest way of thinking of children mind that really understand the true meaning of life.

The director really know how to direct this film so it achieve what it purpose of the making. Nice one.
